Garrett and Glenn went to Idaho the weekend before Garrett's birthday to go fishing. They had a great time and Garrett was told that the trip would be most of his birthday. On the real day we brought out the two presents we had wrapped for him. One was a grab bag of goodies, water balloons, silly string etc. The second was 3 pair of shorts. He was content because of the weekend trip. Then we told him there was one more present but it was hiding.
We told him it was a treasure hunt without the clues. He started looking but was pretty skeptical that he could find it until the bamboo vase started singing. Inside was a cell phone. We weren't going to get him a phone until the 9th grade but we had Ben's phone and line on our plan and we were under contract for it for 2 years. Lucky G! I was happy because it's always difficult for me to find something that will wow Garrett. We pulled it off this year though!
