Another Hidden Picture

It is called a Google, I'm not sure why. Abby wanted to take it to school but could not find it anywhere. I spotted it later in the day. Can you find the Google in this picture?

When I showed the picture to Abby after school I got her famous belly laugh. It was great!

Front Page News!

OK front page of the Thrifty Nickle but still...
We now have an advertisment out for our store so it must be official and safe to blog about. We have opened a deep discount type store in American Fork off of 5th east in Courtyard Plaza. Everything is new and we have books (tons), name brand clothing, food, OTC medication, housewares, tools etc. The hours have been a little questionable as we have been starting out but according to the Thrifty Nickle we are open Tues-Wed 3-6 pm, Thurs-Sat 10-6 pm. So go check it out and tell all your friends!

Taylor Family Christmas Cards

If anyone was wondering why they didn't get a Christmas card from us this year this is why.


These were our options for pictures. When Glenn's parents were here for a weekend in Dec. we took a bunch of pictures but apparently we did not take enough of just our family because this is what we had to choose from. When I saw the pictures I quickly crossed Christmas cards off of the list. (It was way easier to cross it off instead of add "take more family pictures" to the list.) I guess I could have done a picture of just the kids, maybe this one...

I'm saving my pennies and gearing myself up to do pictures with a real photographer some day. Wish me luck!

Preschool Christmas Program

William's preschool class had the cutest little Christmas program. Most of these little guys are 3 so I think they did a great job to learn all of the songs and parts. I forgot to read the note about wearing Sunday best but Will did have a Christmas shirt on. (Peanuts Christmas in fact, so that should get nostalia points.) Someday soon I'm hoping to learn how to get video from my camera to the computer so I can add some of the songs but until then here are some pics.

Abby's Violin Recital by Garrett Taylor

A couple of weeks ago I came across this concert report that Garrett had written about Abby's violin recital. For his band class he had to attend a concert then write a one page report on it. He was supposed to turn in the program with the report to prove that he was there but since we couldn't find a program we printed out the pictures of Abby and of the boys watching. I'm not sure why Glenn took a picture of the boys but it was lucky that he did. It is also lucky that Garrett has a great band teacher, I hope she was laughing. Here is the report. I have to re-type it because he did it at school but everything like punctuation, italics etc. is exactly how he wrote it:

My Concert Report
For my concert report, I went to my sister's violin recital. It was phenomenal. There were long songs, short songs, loud songs, and quiet songs. It was only an hour, which was not to long, but not to short, and didn't put the audience to sleep (even though I slept on the way home). There were a lot of people making it hard to hear, and they didn't have a microphone (again making it hard to hear).
Everyone did a good job, even though the room echoed. It was at the American Fork library (maybe that's why the room wasn't the best). But the music rocked my socks. Another good idea is to ask for cell phones, pagers, and children to be turned off because you heard one of those every minute. It is still very vivid hearing those go off that much. When I was sitting listening, I thought, "Who doesn't like the violin?" Well, I can tell you that if you don't, you're cold hearted. Which also got me thinking, "Why don't we have an orchestra?" then I remembered we have a guitar class! That's better than an orchestra!
My sister had to perform first. She did great. I have noticed one thing with performances though. When you hear a sibling play, you kind of don't pay attention. That's only because you hear it over and over at home. But when you hear someone else, you get excited because you get to hear something different. Well, that's all I got.
